The Benefits Of The Asian Handicap

Whenever I bet on sports of just about any kind, but especially when I place a stake on soccer, I prefer to use a site that offers me what is known as the Asian handicap. Essentially, the purpose is to completely eliminate the draw result. I like to think about it like this: in a two-team event, the possibility of winning, losing or a draw is all the same at roughly 33%. However, when that draw possibility is removed, I have a much better chance to earn some cash on my stake. The only trouble is that a single goal can mean the difference between a win and a loss. There are tons of different handicap lines out there from which to choose, but I prefer the +1.00 or the +1.25 because even though they produce smaller payouts, they provide a better shot at winning.

The simplest Asian handicap is the Level Ball, also known as DNB or Draw No Bet. With it, the score starts out at 0 to 0 with no advance but the draw option is completely removed. With this option, all I need to do is choose the team that is going to win. That's it. I don't have to designate any kind of point spread at all. In the event that a draw does occur, you'll simply get your stake back. Of course, there's also the -1.00 which gives a single point lead to the underdog. If I bet that the underdog will win at the -1.00, then I'll need that team to win by two points in order to get my payout. If they eke out only one goal ahead, then I'll get my stake back. However, if it ends in a draw or they lose, then I'm out my stake.

For the most part, I'm one to stick to the teams that I know have real potential. This type of wagering also works in reverse, and that's why I prefer the +1.00 or +1.25. One of my favorite places to go when I want to place one of these bets is 5Dimes Sportsbook because they'll often run promotions that allow me to get double my wager if I decide to go the -1.00 or higher and put my money on the least favorite.
